Why the journey?

January 31, 2007

It seem that culture and social conditioning serve to outline who we are and how we think about our choices. What if we are something different than what that frame allows for? What if there are ideas toward being a more sustainable cooperative society that we are not able to consider? I am a traveler in search of knowing myself better. I want to make meaningful connections with other cultures so that I might learn about myself, about a diversity of approaches to sustainability, my role and potential as a human being (and I want to see beautiful places while I do it). I will spend the next six months living out of my backpack, traveling via planes, trains, buses and automobiles from farm to farm to experience what this journey has in store for me.
